Paint, Stains, Caulking, Firestop and Adhesives

From bold colour to lasting hold, our paints, stains, caulking, firestop, and adhesives deliver the performance your projects demand.

Paints and stains offer our customers a way to enhance and protect surfaces, providing both aesthetic appeal and long-lasting durability. While paints add vibrant colour and a uniform finish, stains penetrate the material to highlight natural textures and guard against weathering and wear.

Caulking, firestops and adhesives serve as essential problem-solvers in construction, with each product playing a critical role. Operating as a building’s defensive line, caulks effectively seal gaps and joints to create protective barriers against moisture, air and sound. Firestop being a specialized safety product, is designed to seal openings and joints in fire-rated walls and floors, preventing the spread of flames, smoke, and toxic gases during a fire, and maintaining the structural integrity of the buildings for critical evacuation and response time. Adhesives are bonding champions designed for building powerful connections between materials, often surpassing the strength of mechanical fasteners.

Types of Paint

Flat / Matte

No sheen. It absorbs light, making colours appear dull and hides imperfections.

Eggshell

Low shine and withstands light scrubbing.

Semi-Gloss

Medium shine. Withstands heavy scrubbing, making it a good choice for high traffic areas or a child’s room.

Gloss

High shine. Reflects light to make colours brighter and imperfections are easily visible. Gloss is great for trims.

Types of Stain

Clear

Prevents water damage but allows wood to grey naturally.

Toners

Slight hint of colour but still allows for a natural wood look.

Semi-Transparent

A colour change while still allowing visibility of wood grains and texture.

Solid Colour

A full colour change that allows the wood texture to remain visible.

Types of Caulking

Silicone Caulk

The ultimate solution for waterproofing, silicone caulk offers tried-and-true flexibility and durability in a variety of wet environments. Its rubber-like properties allow it to expand and contract with temperature changes while maintaining a watertight seal. Modern silicone formulations provide up to 50 years of weather resistance, making it the best choice for bathrooms and kitchens, particularly around fixtures and backsplashes. Silicone caulk is also the perfect type of caulk to waterproof window and door frames where thermal expansion is a daily concern.

Acrylic Latex Caulk

Acrylic latex caulk is a water-based, low-odor option with a smooth application and quick clean-up, making it ideal for interior finishing work. With most formulations ready to paint in two to four hours, it excels in applications involving interior trim, wall joints and crown molding work. When comparing silicone vs. acrylic caulk, this type performs well in paint preparation, surface finishing, minor crack repair in drywall and interior trim work.

Polyurethane Caulk

Polyurethane caulk is a heavy-duty sealant that creates durable, flexible bonds and is designed to perform in high-stress zones. With superior UV resistance and paintability, this solution’s moisture-curing formula secures permanent adhesion, perfect for concrete and expansion joints in foundations. Polyurethane caulk is ideal for use in masonry applications and heavy-traffic areas. Additionally, this type of caulk can even be used in underwater environments to deliver industrial-strength performance.

Specialty Caulks

Specialty caulks address unique construction challenges with advanced formulations designed for a range of applications. For example, fire-resistant caulks provide up to four hours of protection from fire damage while moisture-resistant products for kitchens and bathrooms are equipped with mold-fighting properties. These exterior-specific types of caulks have been crafted with formulations designed to resist weather and UV damage for decades.

Types of Firestop

Firestop Sealants

These are flexible, fire-resistant caulks or sealants used to fill gaps, cracks, or joints in fire-rated walls and floors. They expand when exposed to high heat, sealing penetrations caused by cables, pipes, or ducts to block the spread of fire, smoke, and toxic gases.

Firestop Collars

Firestop collars are metal rings filled with intumescent material that wrap around plastic pipes passing through fire-rated barriers. In a fire, the collar expands inward as the pipe melts, sealing the opening and preventing fire and smoke from traveling through.

Firestop Sleeves

These are pre-formed, fire-rated pathways used to route cables through walls and floors while maintaining fire-resistance ratings. Ideal for high-cable-traffic areas, they allow for cable changes without compromising fire protection.

Firestop Mortar

A cement-like compound used to fill large openings in walls or floors where multiple penetrations occur. Once cured, it forms a solid fire-resistant barrier, often used in mechanical or electrical rooms with complex infrastructure.

Firestop Pillows

Flexible, reusable firestop pillows are inserted into openings around cables or conduits. They expand when heated to seal voids and are often used in temporary or frequently modified penetrations.

Intumescent Wrap Strips

These strips are wrapped around pipes or grouped cables. In the event of a fire, they expand to many times their original size, crushing softer materials like plastic piping and sealing the penetration.

Firestop Putty Pads

Moldable pads applied around electrical boxes or outlet covers in fire-rated walls. They prevent fire and smoke from passing through the wall cavity, maintaining the barrier’s integrity.

Firestop Coatings and Sprays

These are fire-resistant coatings applied to insulation or sealant surfaces to enhance their performance and protect against flame spread. They also help maintain a clean and compliant finish.

Types of Adhesives

Construction Adhesives

Construction adhesives are powerhouse products that revolutionize material installation by offering superior bonding strength for a wide array of applications. Water-resistant options excel in wood-to-wood bonding and can reduce overall nailing requirements for your build. Construction adhesives can also be used for metal and drywall bonding for long-lasting connections to meet regulatory requirements.

Epoxy

When maximum strength is a must-have, epoxy adhesives offer industrial-grade performance. These two-component systems create chemical bonds often exceeding the strength of the materials themselves. Available in rapid-cure formulas, epoxy solutions perform heavy-duty repairs with reliable gap-filling capabilities for metal and concrete bonding applications. This type of adhesive can even cure underwater for marine applications.

Super Glue (Cyanoacrylate)

For a quick-setting and reliable adhesive, super glue (cyanoacrylate) is an excellent choice in precision work. Delivering fast-drying cure times in under 30 seconds, these adhesive products include anti-clog caps and adjustable flow tips so you can fill narrow gaps instantly. Plus, cyanoacrylate products provide a transparent finish for clean, professional-grade results.

Hot Glue

Highly valuable for a quick fix or a variety of crafting applications, hot glue is a versatile bonding solution allowing for temporary repositioning as it dries. This type of adhesive features clean removal properties so you can avoid causing permanent damage when performing a short-term repair. Hot glue is available in stick and pellet form and can achieve handling strength within 60 seconds.

Specialty Adhesives

For heavy-duty flooring applications, highly durable carpet glues are rated for commercial traffic and contain moisture resistance to stand the test of time. Other specialty adhesives, such as tile adhesives, contain non-slip formulas to flexibly bond tiles to floors, countertops and walls. Unsure what adhesive your build needs? Our team of construction experts is here to offer caulk and adhesive tips to ensure your work is completed without a hitch.
